A one-off princess boat

A one-off princess boat
Eilandje is a true one-off: a prinsessenboot drawn and built as a single, unrepeatable piece. Princess boats are known for their elegance rather than their size, and the brief was to give a compact vessel the presence of something much larger, through proportion and detail rather than square metres.
Arches, from the cabin to the roof
Tall arched windows in varnished mahogany line her white superstructure and give her a rhythm that you recognise from far across the water. The same graceful arches return in the open wheelhouse on the roof deck, so the design reads as one continuous idea from the waterline to the top.
Finished like fine furniture
Symmetrical and refined, Eilandje was finished with a cabinetmaker's care: every joint, every frame and every layer of varnish done by hand in our yard. The result reads almost as a piece of fine furniture on the water. Designed once, built once, and made to be admired.
